INTEGRATING ENTREPRENEURSHIP with the DOL/ETA SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR THE UNEMPLOYED
THINK ENTREPRENEURS! A CALL TO ACTION...Just released, January 25, 2010, by The Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration, our recommendations for partnerships between entrepreneurship educators and local Workforce Investment Boards nationwide. In 2008-09 DOL/ETA provided a grant to the Consortium to explore the possibilities and opportunities for local One-Stop Career Centers and their Workforce Investment Boards in each state to "THINK ENTREPRENEURS". We encourage you to share this press release with your networks right away.
DID YOU KNOW? Small businesses are the foundation of the American economy. The Small Business Administration (SBA) reports that of the 27 million businesses in America, 20 million have no employees, and another 4 million have 5 employees or fewer. Individual entrepreneurs have been the fastest growing segment in the current recession.
We are proud to add this new section to our website for the purpose of sharing entrepreneurial "possibilities and opportunities" with everyone who is concerned about helping the unemployed find a satisfying and sustainable job. We see this as a great partnership between our networks that provide entrepreneurship education, training, and coaching and the DOL-funded One Stop Career Centers that provide services to job-seekers.
